We can use Pokemon Trainer Club (PTC) accounts - we prefer not to. We prefer Google or Facebook login. You can always create temporary social media accounts and link it to your account and only share the temp social login. After the farm is complete, you can unlink the temp account and relink your true FB or Google account. Apple login is not supported, so linking a Facebook or Google login to that Apple account is the current workaround.

Make sure you have logged out of the account 2 hours upon purchase as there is a 2 hour cool down when switching locations/ catching Pokemon or spinning a Pokestop! With FB accounts sign in difficulty can range from very easy to very difficult. For the easiest sign in process for both of us, creating a new Facebook account is the way to go. This way there is nothing of importance/privacy on newly created FB account and no real security either so win win. You will need to unlink your real facebook account if it was already linked to your pokemon go account and link the new one.
With Google accounts sign in difficulty can range from very easy to not so difficult. Same process for new google account as instructions with new FB account before. For existing google accounts we recommend going to manage account from any google app. Find security tab and click on security code to get a one time verification code. Make sure the code is corresponding to the correct google account if you have multiple google accounts on device.
